When you make updates to your website, you might not see the changes right away. This often happens because of caching. Caching saves a version of your pages to help your site load faster for visitors. When you change your text or images, the site keeps showing the old version until the cache is cleared.
If you host your site with Yohoster, you can clear the cache easily. Here is how to do it.
The fastest way to clear your cache is directly from your WordPress dashboard.
- Log in to your WordPress site.
- Look at the toolbar at the top of the screen.
- Find the button labeled “Flush Cache”.
- Click this button.
Once you click it, the system will delete the old saved files. You should see your updates once you refresh your page.
Clear Your Web Browser Cache #
Sometimes, the issue is not with your website host but with your web browser. Your computer might be holding onto an old version of your site. If you have cleared the site cache and still see the old content, try these steps:
- Refresh Hard: On most computers, you can press Ctrl + F5 (or Cmd + Shift + R on a Mac) while looking at your site. This forces your browser to download the newest version of the page.
- Clear Browser History: If the hard refresh does not work, go into your browser settings and clear your browsing history and cached images.
Once you take these steps, your website should show the latest version of your content.
